Board Adventure Card Trading Guide

Everything you need to know about trading cards in Board Adventure. From basics to Golden Trade events to avoiding scams.

How Trading Works

Card trading is the fastest way to complete sets in Board Adventure, but it comes with specific rules and limitations you need to understand before you start.

Unlocking Trading

Trading is locked until you reach Village 3. This usually takes a few hours of gameplay for new players. Once unlocked, trading remains available permanently.

How to Make a Trade — Step by Step

1

Find a Trading Partner

You need to be friends with the person you're trading with. Add them as a Facebook friend or use the in-game friend system via invite links. Trading communities on Facebook, Reddit, and Discord are great places to find partners.

2

Agree on Cards

Communicate with your trading partner about which cards you each need and what duplicates you can offer. This is traditionally done through group posts or direct messages. SwapDeck automates this matching process entirely.

3

Send Your Cards

Go to the trading section in the game, select your friend, and choose which duplicate cards to send. You can send up to 5 cards per day total across all trades.

4

Receive Their Cards

Your partner sends their cards in return. Cards arrive in your inbox and are automatically added to your collection. There is no simultaneous swap mechanic — trades are done on trust.

Important: Trust-Based System

Board Adventure does not have a built-in escrow or simultaneous swap system. You send cards first, then the other person sends theirs. This is why scam prevention is critical. Always trade with reputable partners or use platforms like SwapDeck that track trader reputation.

Golden Trade Events

Golden Trade events are special limited-time windows that allow players to trade golden cards. These events are the only way to trade golden cards — outside of these events, golden cards cannot be sent or received.

How Golden Trade Events Work

  • Occur approximately 2-3 times per month
  • Each event lasts 24-48 hours
  • Only 2 specific golden cards are designated as tradeable per event
  • The tradeable cards are announced when the event starts
  • Normal trading rules still apply (duplicates only, 5/day limit)
  • Golden cards traded count toward your daily 5-card limit

Golden Trade Strategy

  1. Before the event: Check which golden cards you have duplicates of and which you need. Share your list in trading groups.
  2. When announced: Check the 2 tradeable cards immediately. If you need one and have a dupe of the other, find a match FAST.
  3. During the event: Prioritize golden trades over regular trades. These windows are rare and short.
  4. Track all events: Keep a record of which golden cards have been tradeable in past events. Cards that haven't been featured in a while are more likely to appear next.

Pro Tip

Stockpile golden card duplicates specifically for Golden Trade events. Even if you don't need anything right now, having golden dupes ready means you can take advantage of any Golden Trade event instantly. SwapDeck notifies you when Golden Trade events go live.

Skip the Manual Process

SwapDeck matches you with traders automatically. Scan your albums, see instant matches, and complete trades in seconds instead of hours of scrolling through Facebook groups.

Trading Best Practices

1. Always Trade Equal Rarity

A fair trade is a same-rarity swap: a 3-star for a 3-star, a 2-star for a 2-star. If someone asks for a 3-star card in exchange for a 1-star card, that's an unfair deal. The exception is if you genuinely don't need the card and just want to help — but know the value of what you're giving.

2. Build a Reputation

In trading communities, your reputation is everything. Always follow through on trades. If you agree to send a card, send it promptly. Players with good reputations get more trade offers and find matches faster.

3. Use Your Full 5-Card Daily Limit

Don't waste trading days. Every day you don't trade 5 cards is lost progress. Even if you don't need anything urgently, help other players complete their sets. They'll remember and reciprocate when you need something.

4. Prioritize Seasonal Cards

Seasonal sets have expiration dates. Always prioritize trading for seasonal cards over permanent ones. You can trade for permanent cards anytime, but seasonal windows close and your progress resets.

5. Diversify Your Friend List

The more trading partners you have, the better your chances of finding matches for rare cards. Don't just trade with 2-3 people — build a network of 50-100+ active traders. Join multiple trading groups and add friends regularly.

6. Keep Detailed Records

Track who you've traded with, what you've sent, and what you've received. This helps identify reliable partners and prevents accidentally sending cards to someone who hasn't reciprocated. SwapDeck handles all of this tracking automatically.

Common Scams & How to Avoid Them

Unfortunately, trading scams exist in Board Adventure. Here are the most common ones and how to protect yourself.

Scam #1: The "Send First" Scam

Someone agrees to a trade, you send your cards, and they never send theirs back. They may block you or simply ghost. Prevention: Only trade with players who have verified reputations. Use SwapDeck's trader reputation system to check reliability before trading.

Scam #2: The Bait and Switch

Someone agrees to trade specific cards but then sends different, lower-value cards instead. Prevention: Always confirm the exact cards being traded in writing (screenshot the conversation). Check your received cards immediately.

Scam #3: Fake Account Trading

A scammer creates multiple accounts to collect cards from different victims. They promise trades from their "main account" that never come. Prevention: Verify the account's village level and play history. New, low-level accounts making big trade offers are red flags.

Scam #4: The "I'll Send Tomorrow" Excuse

After receiving your cards, they claim they've "used up their daily limit" and will send tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes. Prevention: Ask them to send first, or agree to send simultaneously. If they refuse to go first and have no reputation, walk away.

General Safety Rules

  • Never trade high-value cards with unverified strangers
  • Screenshot all trade agreements
  • Use platforms with reputation tracking (like SwapDeck)
  • Start small with new trading partners — trade 1-star cards first to build trust
  • Report scammers to trading communities and game support
  • If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is
