Everything you need to know about trading cards safely in Board Adventure. Learn the mechanics, spot scams before they happen, and use the right tools to protect your collection.
Trading is the fastest way to complete your card sets and earn set completion rewards (usually 5K energy or more). Here is how the trading system works:
You can only trade with players on your friends list. To add a friend, you need their unique player ID or a Facebook connection. You can have up to 50 friends at any time, and managing your friends list is important if you are an active trader.
Board Adventure uses a simple send-and-receive model. There is no built-in "trade" button that swaps cards simultaneously. Instead, one player sends a card first, and the other player sends one back. This honor-system approach is why scams are so common.
You can only send cards that you have duplicates of. If you have exactly one copy of a card, it is locked in your album and cannot be traded. You need at least two copies before the game allows you to send one.
Cards are rated from 1 to 5 stars based on rarity. Higher-star cards (especially 4-star and 5-star) have trading restrictions. You may need to reach a certain village level before you can send or receive high-star cards. Additionally, there are daily limits on how many high-star cards you can send.
Golden cards are special rare variants that can only be traded during Golden Trade events. These events happen periodically and are the only window where golden cards can change hands. Missing a Golden Trade event means waiting until the next one, which makes golden cards extremely valuable. See our Golden Cards guide for more details.
Board Adventure's honor-system trading creates opportunities for scammers. Here are the most common scams and how to recognize them:
A scammer shows a screenshot of their album claiming they have the card you need. The screenshot is either photoshopped, outdated, or from a different account. They take your card and claim they "already traded it" or block you.
How to avoid: Verify their inventory through a trusted platform like SwapDeck where albums are AI-scanned and verified in real-time.
The scammer agrees to a trade, receives your card, and then blocks you or goes silent. Since Board Adventure does not have a simultaneous swap mechanism, the "send first" player is always at risk. Ghost traders often target 4-star and 5-star cards.
How to avoid: Trade incrementally. Send low-value cards first to build trust. Use platforms with trust ratings so you can see a trader's history.
The scammer says "send first, I will send yours tomorrow" or "after my cooldown resets." They keep stalling with excuses until you give up. This is a variation of the ghost trade that uses social engineering.
How to avoid: Never agree to delayed trades. Both cards should be sent within the same session. If they cannot send now, wait until they can.
Someone convinces you to trade a 5-star legendary card for a 1-star or 2-star common card by claiming "the stars don't matter" or "it's the last one I need." Star ratings directly correlate to rarity and value. A 5-star card is worth far more than a 1-star.
How to avoid: Always match star-for-star. A fair trade is same-star or at most one star apart. Check the rarity tier list to know card values.
Follow these five steps every time you trade to protect your collection:
Ask for proof that the trader actually has the card. A live screenshot with their username visible is better than a cropped image. Even better, use SwapDeck where inventories are AI-verified.
If you are trading with someone new, start with a low-value 1-star or 2-star card to test their honesty. Once they prove reliable, move to higher-value trades.
A player's village level and collection progress tells you a lot. Low-level accounts offering 5-star cards are suspicious. Experienced players with high village levels are generally safer.
Random Facebook groups and Discord servers have no accountability. Platforms like SwapDeck track trade history, show trust ratings, and verify inventories. If a trader has a 96/100 trust score and 50 completed trades, you know they are legitimate.
Take screenshots of the conversation, the agreed trade, and the card being sent. If a scam happens, you have evidence to report the player and warn others.
SwapDeck was built specifically to solve the problems that make Board Adventure trading risky. Here is how:
Every user's collection is scanned by our AI. When someone says they have a card, we know they actually have it because our system identified it from their album screenshots. No fake screenshots, no photoshops.
Every trader has a trust score built from their completed trades. After each successful trade, both parties rate each other. A trader with a 96/100 trust rating and 50+ completed trades has proven themselves reliable.
You can see a trader's full history before agreeing to anything. How many trades have they completed? What cards have they traded? Have they ever been reported? All of this is transparent.
SwapDeck's matching algorithm only connects you with traders where both parties benefit. You have what they need, and they have what you need. No lopsided trades, no convincing needed.
Getting started with SwapDeck takes less than 5 minutes:
Get the app free from Google Play. Create your account in seconds.
Take screenshots of your Board Adventure album pages and upload them. Our AI instantly identifies every card, including duplicates, missing cards, star ratings, and golden variants.
SwapDeck automatically finds other players who have the cards you need and need the cards you have. No scrolling through posts, no messaging strangers.
Connect with your match, add them as a friend in Board Adventure, and complete the trade. Both inventories update automatically in SwapDeck.
After the trade is complete, rate your experience. This builds trust scores for the community and helps everyone trade more safely.
To trade cards in Board Adventure, you need to be friends with the other player. Go to your card collection, select a duplicate card, and choose "Send to Friend." You can only send cards you have duplicates of, and both players must meet the minimum star level requirement for that card.
Yes, scams are common in Board Adventure trading. The most frequent scams include screenshot bait-and-switch (showing fake duplicates), ghost trades (taking your card then blocking you), and unfair trades (convincing you to trade a 5-star card for a 1-star). Using a verified platform like SwapDeck eliminates these risks.
Board Adventure has star-based restrictions on trading. You can only send cards that you have duplicates of. Higher-star cards (4-star and 5-star) often have additional requirements such as minimum village level or waiting periods between trades.
SwapDeck uses AI-powered album scanning to verify that traders actually have the cards they claim. Every user has a trust rating based on completed trades, and the two-way matching system ensures both parties have what the other needs before connecting them.
